Washington has cut your reimbursement by 2% with sequestration. HHA’s are coping with increased scrutiny from CMS contractors and the resulting claim denials. The training and education HHA’s receive from contractors in the form of CBR’s (Comparative Billing Reports) have many of you looking over your shoulders. This seminar is designed to provide practical training to home health agencies to achieve OASIS accuracy, improve case mix and outcome scores and receive prompt reimbursement.
We will provide expert guidance to address retention of those reimbursements when your agency is selected for pre-payment (ADR’s) or post-payment audits (ZPIC/RAC). Regulatory Compliance, LLC, consults with home health agencies to appeal denials generated by various CMS contractors and will provide great insight into documentation practices required to pass medical record scrutiny, avoid costly claim denials, and survey deficiencies.
Medicare beneficiaries with ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and other complex care patients can be admitted to Home Health and be kept on service as long as they need covered services. Medicare contractors will no longer deny claims based on the “must get better” standard. This seminar will teach you how you can successfully admit and care for these beneficiaries without fear of claim denials. Proper coding and documentation are critical.
This course qualifies administrators to 8 Continuing Educational Units (CEU’s).
